Commentary on a

Cato Institute Policy Analysis regarding

Marriage and the state...

Though the Policy Analysis concentrated on tax and financial-related, it stands that the state and religious marriage should have no relationship.  I agree that, as the relationship currently stands, the state has debauched the once-sacred trust and sacrament called marriage.  When will the religious communities rise-up and take-back this sacrament?  I don't know; for as it remains, the ministry might just as well continue to say:  "By the power of the state vested in me, I now pronounce you...".  Excuse me, but didn't marriage long exist before the empowered state?  04-12-11
Who will stand in the gap on behalf of the children? During the last several weeks, the Alabama Congress has undertaken a bill to increase the joint custody and care of children of divorce. This bill--in both the House and Senate--has been featured at the national level through such organizations as the American Coalition of Fathers & Children (ACFC). Soon the bill will come-up for vote?  Who will stand in the gap on behalf of the millions of children unjustifiably separated from their parent?    04-11-11

A Letter to state congress members This letter was written to several state-congress members--the subject being a bill submitted by the Alabama Family Rights Association (ALFRA) calling for both parents care in their children post-divorce.  The content is brief though poignant in emphasizing the importance of both parents and families continuing in the care of their children.      03-18-11
